Dan and I got a treat today. My dad, Oma, and her husband Dave offered to watch the kids while we toured Gettysburg. We took a bus tour of the battlefield and saw all kinds of monuments and cannons. There are over 1400 of them on the battlefield, placed there by actual veterans of the Civil War. Each regiment could place one where they fought during the battle. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, and I learned a ton of interesting facts about the battle. It was a nice day. Tomorrow we are off to see some of the Amish country, and then we will be staying with my Uncle Ken and Aunt Susan for two nights before beginning the journey home!

I love all the pictures. The kids look like they are having a really great time. I'm glad you got to go to Gettysburg on a tour. The history is amazing and you miss a lot without a guide. Have a fun time in Amish country. Love Ya, Mom
Hi Guys!
Sounds like you are having a great time! Matt and I are jealous:)
We will pray you have a safe trip home.
Cousin,
Gina
That's so great you & Danny got to do this alone. I know with the kids that it was really hard to get much out of the Smithsonian museums we went into, and although only Juniper and I did the Holocaust Museum, I still couldn't read nearly everything while taking care of her and fighting all the tourists. Gettysburg must have been incredible...I'm glad this was one site you & Danny could do w/out the kids. Looks like they're real troopers, though! Love you, Karli
